Good afternoon ,ladies and gentlemen. I am very glad to have the opportunity to deliver my lecture .My topic of the teaching presentation is Behind the Headlines Book II. www.edudown.net
my teaching presentation consist of four parts.
Part 1 analysis of the reading material
Part2 theory and teaching method and leaning method
Part3 procedures www.edudown.net
Part4 blackboard design.
In the first part, it will refer to the status and function of the test in the unit , teaching target(perception、capability、emotion), key points of teaching and difficulty teaching method(direct teaching、situation teaching).teaching aids .
behind the headlines is the third period of unit 2. It is a reading comprehension text. This lesson is very important for the students to learn is that it is related to our daily life and it can improve the students ability to deal with the media and information in a correct attitude. www.edudown.net
Knowledge goal:
Key expressions: relate ….to ; for once , people to be interviewed, become addicted to ,
even if ,on all sides.
ability goal:①talk about reporters and information
②improve the students’ ability of skimming and summarizing abilty.
Moral goal: By learning this text, the students can not only further understand the process of how to decide to what to write , but also learn how to improve the ability deal with the media and information correctly. Maybe it is the most goal in the text. www.edudown.net
Teaching theory and method
the new curriculum standard emphases the idea that teaching should taking the students as the host and themselves subordinate. So task-based teaching approach will be used in the teaching of reading and student’s understanding to the text. Besides, during the task finishing , I will create as many chances as possible to make my students participate in ways of “questions and answers”, “group discussion and pair work” www.edudown.net
so communicative learning is also very popular in the discussion and answering and asking .
learning method
Build up their self-study ability are the first things I am considering about.
Interest is the best teacher. But with the heavy study burden and impact of the traditional teaching, sometimes the students may lose the interest in learning and are not independent enough. So how to motivate them, develop their interest and make them speak in all the task s is necessary. www.edudown.net
Teaching procedures
Step1 pro-reading greeting and lead in
Task1 warming up ,show the student some books ,magazines and newspapers ,and then ask them to express why people read newspaper? And how newspaper help us understand the world. www.edudown.netwww.edudown.net
Step2 while--reading
Task2 skimming---guess the general idea of the text by reading the title, subtitle and pictures.
Task3 scanning------to find ,as a reporter, how they decide what to write .how to interview a person.
Task4 extensive reading ------ Task5 listen to the tape and correct the pronunciation
Underline the key and strange words and sentence for them and overcome them by looking up or discuss with partners. Ask the students to write them down on the blackboard with the common words and phrases. www.edudown.net
Cooperative learning is allowed even if they look noisy.
Step3 Post reading discussion
Design three discussions for students and allow them to choose one to speak out . make sure anyone can be able to pick one topic that they are interested in to deliver it ,which is a reflection of making everyone successful in class. www.edudown.net
